Jorge Sampaoli considering his Marseille future

As reported by RMC, OM coach Jorge Sampaoli is concerned about Marseille’s financial and personnel situation this summer and is considering his future at the club as a result.

Sampaoli is putting pressure on the club’s leadership to rectify the situation after key players like Boubacar Kamara, who left for Aston Villa, and William Saliba, who departed at the end of his Arsenal loan deal, exited the club while targets like Axel Witsel, who is set to join Atlético Madrid, haven’t been secured.

The club are waiting for the DNCG, French football’s notoriously strict financial watchdog, to remove restrictions on the club’s wage bill with a decision expected today, but Sampaoli remains concerned that OM won’t be competitive in the Champions League next season and need to strengthen substantially.

Although Sampaoli, currently on holiday in Brazil but still in daily contact with president Pablo Longoria, is a long way from resigning as it stands, RMC say he is simply letting it be known that his exit can’t be ruled out if Marseille don’t show more ambition this summer.
