Jorge Sampaoli on Sead Kolašinac: “There’s no point in having a player who isn’t at 100%.”

In speaking before Marseille’s meeting with Clermont, OM coach Jorge Sampaoli discussed the progress of the club’s new signing from Arsenal, Sead Kolašinac. Sampaoli explained that the left-back is yet to pick up his ideas and is being kept out of the team as a result. Sampaoli said:

“He’s at a new club with a new system… It’s different for [fellow new signing, Cedric] Bakambu, he knows the language and he interprets the ideas better. We play with different systems as well. The easiest way would be to put Kolašinac in as a starter, but it’s a risk. He doesn’t know our game yet, but he’s very interested in everything we want to do and he wants to play, he will likely play more soon with the busy schedule. But, for me, at the moment, there’s no point in having a player who isn’t at 100%.”
