Jules Koundé says he has “no preference” over England or Senegal as quarter final opponent

Speaking to TF1 following France’s 3-1 win over Poland to get to the quarter finals of the 2022 World Cup, defender Jules Koundé said that he has “no preference” over whether France will face England or Senegal next Saturday.

Transcribed by RMC Sport, Koundé was speaking about preparing for the match next Saturday, with the team now having six days to prepare for the fixture – he said the team will “decompress very quickly and recover” but the team are “going back to the hotel to watch the game between England and Senegal, becuase we like football, but we don’t have a preference”.

In a match which was lined with record breaking stats, France went ahead thanks to Olivier Giroud just before halftime – becoming France’s top goalscorer with his 52nd, going ahead of Thierry Henry. Kylian Mbappé then surpassed Zinedine Zidane’s goalscoring record with a double to seal the deal for Les Bleus. France will play the quarter final next Saturday where Les Bleus will face either Senegal or England.
