Laurent Batlles the favourite to take over at Saint-Étienne

RMC Sport report this afternoon that Laurent Batlles is the favourite to succeed Pascal Dupraz on the Saint-Étienne bench, with the latter set to leave after overseeing relegation to Ligue 2.

The former Troyes manager ended his playing career with Les Verts and was in charge of the reserve team until recently, and still lives in the area.

Nevertheless, the club’s management will need to reassure any incoming coach regarding the make-up of the team next season, with around 20 players set to leave the club this summer.

Whether the club’s ownership changes hands this summer will be a decisive factor, with a statement last Sunday, published right after the match, indicated that news would soon be on its way.
