L’Équipe report this morning that Leipzig are looking to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo, and have stepped up their efforts to sign the Senegal international in the last few hours.
The former Mainz and Borussia Dortmund man could now be in for a return to the Bundesliga, having been linked to a host of clubs throughout the summer.
These include Milan, who had met with the centre-back but did not manage to win him over with regard to their project. He was also linked to a host of Premier League including Aston Villa and West Ham, the latter eventually signing his former PSG teammate Thilo Kehrer.
The 26-year-old, who made just 12 Ligue 1 appearances last season, has been informed that he is not part of the club’s plans anymore under the new management and was placed on the transfer list at the start of the summer. Benfica and Galatasaray are also said to be interested in making a late move.
