Lens criticise ban on travelling fans for PSG game

Lens have released a statement this morning informing of and criticising a local decree imposing a ban on travelling supporters for their trip to Paris this weekend.

Paris Saint-Germain will host the Sang et Or side on Saturday, with their fans again barred from travelling after being unable to do so for the Derby du Nord against Lille.

The ban is the latest in a host of police measures across France in the last few seasons, which have hit travelling fans across the country on a near-weekly basis and curbed away support.

“The club wants to underline a dangerous backsliding and an incomprehensible systematic nature of these measures when not one incident has been noted across all of the Lens fans’ travels.”

“The Sang et Or supporters travel everywhere in great numbers. It appears, under these conditions, senseless to not organise at the very least an pre-arranged and safe arrival for the club’s fans.”

“Racing, which defends an ardent and popular football , calls on the authorities to put an end to the normalisation of these bans.”
