L’Équipe report today that a list of managers who could potentially succeed Mauricio Pochettino as PSG manager includes the likes of Christophe Galtier, Thiago Motta, Roberto Martinez and Joachim Löw.
The former Germany manager is being looked at as an option, but his lack of experience at club level as well as his language skills could discredit him. In any case, he would be interested in the role.
Martinez has been seen as a strong profile who would be able to adapt to the PSG dressing room, but it is unlikely that he would leave the Belgium job just months before the World Cup.
Thiago Motta, who played at PSG between 2012 and 2018 and remains close to the PSG upper management, is also an option, given that he intends to leave Spezia.
The Nice manager’s name has been put forward to president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in recent weeks. Galtier had asked for his current club for more resources as well as a “Luis Campos profile” sporting director – the Portugal native has been linked to PSG in the last few hours. However, his arrival would mean a drastic change in the club’s strategy, and Les Aiglons would need to be compensated.
