As reported by Foot Mercato, Liverpool are stepping up their interest in signing 22-year-old Monaco midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Expected to leave this summer, the France international has been linked with many a top club, predominantly Real Madrid and PSG of late.
However, Madrid, previously seen as front runners, have had trouble meeting both the principality club’s valuation and the player’s wage demands, giving Liverpool hope of gazumping Real.
Contacts have been established between Liverpool and the Frenchman’s entourage and the player is interested in a move to Anfield.
Valuations of the former Bordeaux man vary but the outlet explains that any transfer fee would have to exceed €50m and a bidding war could yet ensue.
