Foot Mercato are reporting that Lorient, who only narrowly avoided relegation last season, are “dreaming” of recruiting Marseille’s Bamba Dieng (22), who has been deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Igor Tudor.
The Senegalese international forward isn’t short of suitors. Foot Mercato have previously revealed that OGC Nice were interested in taking Dieng on loan, Fabrizio Romano has reported that two Premier League clubs are interested, and Ignazio Genuardi has said that Everton were targeting the €15m-rated player.
Lorient have now entered the frame, according to Foot Mercato. Like Nice, Lorient are interested in taking the player on loan. Given the club’s 16th-placed finish last campaign, Lorient would offer Dieng a “key role” and the management at the club are “unanimous” over the player’s profile.
However, unfortunately for Lorient, a move to the Breton club isn’t a priority for the player himself, nor for Marseille, who are still looking for a permanent transfer, likely from an English club.
