Los Angeles FC being thwarted by Lille in Jonathan Bamba & Denis Bouanga pursuits

In their search for a winger, Los Angeles FC (LAFC), could be thwarted by Lille twice. The MLS side were prepared to spend up to €10m on Jonathan Bamba (26), but the former France U21 international will not be heading to America. Their alternative is Saint-Étienne’s Denis Bouanga (27). LAFC have made him an offer, but so have Lille, according to Nabil Djellit.

Bamba was made the priority by the MLS club and were even prepared to pay Lille anything up to €10m in order to obtain his services. However, he will not be joining the side. Their alternative is Bouanga, who is likely to leave Saint-Étienne after the club’s relegation to Ligue 2, and with just a year remaining on his contract, he will be available on the cheap.

LAFC have made the Gabon international a four-year contract, but the player is also in contact with Lille over a move back to Ligue 1.
