According to L’Équipe, Lucas Hernandez will leave the France training camp on Thursday, after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee against Australia on Tuesday night.
Shortly after Craig Goodwin put Australia ahead in the 9th minute, Lucas Hernandez had to exit the pitch, being replaced by his brother, Théo, who provided the assist for Adrien Rabiot’s assist on the 27th minute.
The Bayern Munich defender will not be operated on in Qatar, which is why he’ll leave the France training camp before waiting a few days for a surgical intervention, which would mean an extended absence on the touchline.
Deschamps is not able to replace the defender, as the deadline for replacing injured players passed on Monday night – which leaves Les Bleus with 24 players in their squad.
