Prior to the confirmation of Lucas Paquetá’s (25) move from Lyon to West Ham on Monday, the Brazilian said goodbye to the Ligue 1 club in an emotional social media post.
Paquetá, who made 80 appearances for Les Gones since his arrival from AC Milan in 2020, posted the following post on Instagram:
“I want to begin with one word: gratitude. Thank you Lyon for all of these moments experienced together, and all these emotions felt at your side. Thank you for welcoming me, as well as my family, and for making us feel at home! Thank you for all the moments spent together!”
He continued, “Thank you for rekindling my passion for playing football. Thank you to the supporters for all of your affection and love. It has been, and always will be, reciprocal. Thank you to all the members of staff and all of my teammates. I have always given the best of myself, for you, for the club. I have never lacked effort or passion for this jersey. Lyon will always be in my heart! ‘Go and stay where people value you.’ I love you, Lyon. Goodbye.”
