20 minutes report this afternoon that Lyon have cancelled more than 1,000 tickets bought by West Ham fans for tomorrow night’s Europa League clash, for seats outside of the designated away end.
Last week, local police authorities had released a decree banning West Ham fans without a ticket bought from the Hammers’ away allocation from entering the stadium or being in the area around it.
The statement indicates that between 1,000 and 3,000 fans outside the designated travelling section were expected to arrive.
Lyon’s deputy director for the management of the stadium Xavier Pierrot has indicated that West Ham fans who are not part of the officially designated away supporters’ group will be handed over to the authorities.
As a result of the ticket cancellations, the club will put the remaining seats back on sale to Lyon fans.
