Foot Mercato report that Ligue 1 side Lyon have accepted a proposal in principle from LaLiga outfit Real Betis for French International attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar.
However, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News, the player is holding off accepting the proposal as he believes that he should be moving to a better club, potentially in the Premier League. At the moment however, there are no other concrete offers.
With just 12 months left on his current contract, Lyon know that they need to sell the attacking midfielder or else risk losing him for nothing in the summer of 2023.
The 24-year-old recently formally confirmed to Lyon his desire to quit the club, in a meeting with Director of Recruitment Bruno Cheyrou.
OL are seeking a €15m deal, which could also include players in exchange in the case of Real Betis.
