As reported by Nabil Djellit, Premier League club Southampton are interested in signing Lyon striker Moussa Dembélé this summer.
Having returned to OL after a short and unsuccessful loan spell with Atlético Madrid in La Liga, Dembélé returned to his best as a prolific poacher, especially in the second half of last season, scoring 21 Ligue 1 goals in total.
However, the links to a major move to Manchester United and Chelsea from before the pandemic have yet to resurface and, with one year left on his deal at OL, the player unlikely to be convinced by a move to the Saints. The plan, as it stands, is to leave on a free transfer next summer.
The 26-year-old Frenchman will face competition in attack this season following the return of Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal but coach Peter Bosz may look to use him in a two-man strike force alongside Lacazette, say L’Équipe.
