Manchester City set to sign Le Havre’s Isaak Touré

L’Équipe report tonight that Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Le Havre central defender Isaak Touré, who could then be loaned out to Troyes for the upcoming season.

The 19-year-old is set to sign a long-term contract in the coming days, having visited the club’s training ground in the last week. With Lyon and Marseille also interested, the French youth international has opted to make the move across the channel.

An agreement is close to being found between the two clubs, although common ground has already been found on the outlines of the transfer.

The Premier League side are currently looking at sending him out on loan straight away, with Troyes – who are also part of the City Football Group – a potential destination. The 16th-place Ligue 1 side are interested in having him next season, having already loaned in Manchester City players in the past.

Touré, who is under contract in Normandy until 2023, had offers to leave his formative club last year, with interests from Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, but his club had decided to keep hold of him. This year, he made a total of 17 appearances as Le Havre finished 8th in the second tier.
