Marseille face competition for William Saliba

Although Arsenal are hoping to keep hold of the returning William Saliba (21), Newcastle, Napoli and Atletico Madrid are interested in the defender, whilst Marseille still remain keen, according to Fabrice Hawkins. 

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta recently said that Saliba has to come back” to the London club. However, clubs across the continent are ready to test their resolve. 

According to Hawkins, Marseille have also “not given up on the idea of bringing him back”. Marseille president Pablo Longoria has previously stated that it is the desire of the club and of the player” to bring the loanee back to the Orange Vélodrome. 

Saliba enjoyed a stand-out season at Les Phocéens from Arsenal, his performances earning him his first international call-up for the French international side.
