Marseille fans to be banned from PSG trip

L’Équipe report this afternoon that the French authorities are preparing a ban on Marseille fans travelling for this weekend’s clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Bans on away fans are now widespread across French football and are frequent when it comes to Le Classique, with the last time OM fans were allowed into the Parc des Princes coming back in 2018.

The hotly contested nature of the rivalry between the two teams has led to several incidents between fans in the past. As is usually the case, the decision is expected to apply to PSG supporters in the opposite fixture in Marseille as well, which is set to be played on February 26.

The league leaders face off against Marseille on Sunday night, with the visitors sitting in third and coming into the game with a good spell of form, despite defeat to Ajaccio ending their unbeaten start to the campaign under new manager Igor Tudor.
