Speaking to RMC Sport, Marseille President Pablo Longoria admitted to feeling betrayed by French international defensive player Boubacar Kamara, who left the club on a free transfer to join Aston Villa this week.
“I do not like to speak about private conversations nor their content, I have fundamental respect for the people involved. But in life I believe that our word is our bond. And in this situation, there were a lot of words said which were not respected. He is a player who is very invested in the project this season. He had an incredible end of the season, when you take into account the risk of injury that players who are leaving on a free transfer experience when they are this committed. His level of performance in the final month of competition was one of the keys which enabled us to achieve our objectives.”
