Le10sport are reporting that Olympique de Marseille have been priced out of a move for SCO Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi (22).
Pablo Longoria is a long-term admirer of the midfielder. However, following a breakout tournament at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Angers’ asking price has increased. Ounahi was part of a Morocco team that made history by becoming the first African team to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup.
Logically, Ounahi’s asking price for Ounahi has increased, and so have the number of clubs interested. Barcelona have been linked with a move by Le10sport, LÉquipe have linked Leicester City with a move, whilst Foot Mercato have today reported that Napoli are in pole position to sign the player, with Inter Milan also in the race.
Due to the competition for Ounahi’s signature, Marseille have therefore been priced out of a move, despite Longoria’s admiration for the player. Foot Mercato have added that Angers doubt Marseille’s financial ability to pull off a deal for the player.
