According to RMC Sport Marseille have reached a full agreement over a €10m loan-to-buy deal for Manchester United centre-back Éric Bailly, who is set for a medical at the Ligue 1 club on Tuesday.
Fabrizio Romano reports that an agreement is also close on personal terms, with the player’s loan-to-buy clause becoming mandatory if Marseille are in the Champions League next season.
The deal could be quickly concluded and he could therefore make the squad for Sunday’s match against OGC Nice – with a possible medical set for the player tomorrow.
It was reported by RMC last week that talks were advancing for the player, while the former Villarreal and Espanyol man himself was also keen on the move, having seen little game time with the Red Devils last season. He has yet to appear for the Premier League side this season.
Marseille, on top of the dozen players they have already signed the summer, are looking to bring in another defender as well as a midfielder. For the latter position, talks have been opened with Atalanta for Ukraine international Ruslan Malinovskyi, in a move that could see Turkish winger Cengiz Ünder go the other way.
