Rumours in the last summer transfer window linked Monaco defender Axel Disasi to a plethora of European heavyweights. But Disasi, in an interview with RMC Sport, could only take note of the attempt made by Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking to RMC’s show “Rothen s’enflamme“, Disasi disclosed that PSG were interested in signing the 24-year-old centre-back during the latter phase of the 2022 summer transfer window. He said:
“It’s always pleasant to be associated with Paris Saint-Germain. I am an ambitious person, and PSG is a very ambitious club. But I felt good at AS Monaco, and we were coming to the end of the transfer window. At Monaco, I have the confidence of the coach and the directors.”
Elaborating on his eagerness to play for a big club in the Premier League, the defender admitted:
“I like England, It’s a very exciting league, let’s say it’s my favourite league.”
PSG were keen on making a move for Inter’s Milan Škriniar in the summer transfer window. But with the Parisien club failing to secure the coveted transfer for the Slovakia international, Luís Campos’ men turned their eyes toward Disasi, who remains bound to Monaco’s contract until June 2025.
