Speakin following Monaco’s 3-2 loss against Marseille at Stade Louis II on Sunday evening, Monaco defender Axel Disasi accused the referee of favouring the away side late on in the game – a period of the match which saw Igor Tudor’s side score two goals to come back from behind to win the game. The defender said the following to Amazon Prime Sport Video after the match, as transcribed by L’Équipe :
“I don’t know if he (the referee) was pushed by the atmosphere of the stadium which was in majority for Marseille. In the last 15 minutes, the referee was for Marseille. From the moment Marseille equalised, the referee was for Marseille, that’s all.”
Alexis Sánchez opened the scoring for the away side in the 35th minute, before Wissam Ben Yedder equalised from the penalty spot. Kevin Volland then put Monaco in front in the 72nd minute, before Jordan Veretout equalised in the 83rd – with Sead Kolasinac providing the winner in the eight minute of stoppage time to put the visitors ahead.
