Nantes president Waldemar Kita confirmed that he is interested in Marseille’s Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik (28), in an interview transcribed by RMC.
Speaking to Quotidien du Sport, he said: “He is a goalscorer, a very good player in this regard. We’re interested in him. But before anything else, we must speak with the club. It’s an idea, and by the way, I don’t know how it got out.”
However, Marseille president Pablo Longoria has previously expressed a desire to retain their Polish forward. “We want to give continuity to this project next year, by keeping these players, who brought us to second position in the championship. It is important to maintain a continuity with this group.”
The striker scored 20 goals last season for Marseille and is under contract until 2024. Having finished in second place, he will have the opportunity to participate in the Champions League next season.
