L’Équipe report this morning that Lyon and Newcastle United have reached an agreement over the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães.
The transfer fee is expected to reach €50m in total, with the Premier League side paying Les Gones €42.5m to begin with €8m which would essentially depend on the club surviving relegation.
The move becomes the third biggest sale in Lyon’s history. A Newcastle representative has touched down in Belo Horizonte, where the midfielder is with his national team since yesterday. A medical will then take place this afternoon, with an official announcement expected tomorrow at the latest.
