According to RMC Sport, Neymar is now considering a departure from Paris Saint-Germain after having initially shown signs of a willingness to be involved in the project – the Brazilian is reported to have been open to a departure in recent days.
Whilst the PSG number 10’s contract was automatically extended to 2027, it was reported last week that Luis Campos is looking to sell Neymar – with QSI allegedly being in complete agreement that the Brazilian should leave the club he joined 5 years ago for a world record transfer fee.
In private the Brazilian has expressed multiple times his need to ‘feel loved’ by the club in order for to get the best performances from him – however at PSG the hierarchy are no longer hiding the fact that they would like to see the player leave.
Neymar was well aware of the fact he has under-performed this season in comparison with other Parisian superstars – scoring 13 goals, with 8 assists in 28 matches. However, it was not until after PSG crashed out of the Champions League against Real Madrid that he started questioning his future, reportedly not being best pleased by boos aimed at him by the home crowd in the matches following.
An 100-goal man since his debut in 2017, Neymar is now seeking for clarification regarding club’s intentions concerning his future. In an interview with Le Parisien, PSG president Nasser Al-Khlelaïfi spoke about a possible departure for Neymar: “A possible departure of Neymar this summer? What I can tell you is that we expect all the players to do much more than last season, much more! They all have to be at 100 per cent”.
