OGC Nice have announced the arrival of Florent Ghisolfi as the club’s new sporting director. He arrives from Ligue 1 rivals RC Lens.
In a press release, Nice said, “His nomination is a new, important step in structuring the club. He is chosen to be a cornerstone of the project.”
Ghisolfi has been sporting director at Lens since 2019, where he has helped the club rise to become challengers for the European places in Ligue 1. The press release added that he wouldn’t be taking up his role immediately and that “he will take up his role in the coming weeks.”
He replaces Julien Fournier who departed the club at the beginning of July. Due to his surprise departure, the club hired Iain Moody to take control of the summer transfer window. President Jean-Pierre Rivèver said last month that they were hoping to keep Moody at the club but in a different role.
