Official | Lille’s Zeki Çelik completes move to AS Roma on a four-year deal

AS Roma announced this morning the official signing of Turkish right-back Zeki Çelik (25) from LOSC Lille – with the defender signing a four-year deal with the Giallorossi that runs until 2026. The fee was reported to be around €7m for the 25-year old. Çelik will opt to wear the No. 19 shirt for the Giallorossi 

Çelik told AS Roma in the official statement that : “It’s an honour for me to play for such a big club; I have big ambitions and I want to help this team be successful. I feel focused and ready – I will never let up and you will always see me fighting for everything out there on the pitch.”

The Turkish international right-back leaves Lille after joining the club in 2018 from Istanbulspor. During his time in Northern France the defender has won Ligue 1 with Les Dogues under the incoming PSG manager Christophe Galtier during the 2020/21 season. Over 118 appearances Çelik has scored six goals and made 14 assists as a versatile right-back with solid defensive capabilities.
