Official | Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes signs contract extension

Lyon have this evening announced the contract renewal of goalkeeper Anthony Lopes, who has committed his future to the club until 2025, with an optional extra season.

The Portuguese international’s current deal was running until the end of next season. He has spent his entire career so far at his formative club, making 419 appearances in a decade with the senior squad.

The Euro 2016 winner’s renewal, a year after new manager Peter Bosz wanted André Onana over him, appears to be the sign of a change of squad-building strategy for Lyon, who will look to focus on home-grown players with Alexandre Lacazette’s return the flagship signing.
