As reported by L’Équipe, OGC Nice are interested in swooping for Lyon midfielder Maxence Caqueret after his contract talks with OL reportedly stalled this week.
The 22-year-old’s current contract is up in 2023 but his demands of a €300,000 monthly salary, with the club only willing to offer €200,000, have lead to uncertainty over his future.
Nice and a number of foreign clubs are interested in capitalising on the situation this summer with just a year to go on the player’s deal and his club likely keen to not lose him for free. Talks between OL and Caqueret’s representatives are set to swiftly resume, however.
Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed last month Lyon want to renew Caqueret’s deal but “not at all costs” after the player refused to rule out a move away from Lyon in the summer.
