Ousmane Dembélé remains a doubt for France game against Denmark with injury concerns

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembélé could miss France’s trip to Denmark, with concerns over his fitness clouding a perfect scenario for head coach Didier Deschamps.

According to what is reported by L’Équipe, Ousmane Dembélé did not participate in France’s training session on Friday. The report understands that Dembélé could not train, owing to a calf issue that he reportedly sustained during his time at Barcelona.

In France’s 1-0 victory against Austria, Dembélé went on to the field as a second-half substitute and stayed on the pitch for around eleven minutes. In their final fixture in the UEFA Nations League, France lock horns with Denmark on Sunday.

Although Deschamps’ men were victorious and are currently sitting at the third position in the group of four nations, the defending World Cup champions still have not surpassed the danger.

A win for Austria on Sunday against Croatia and a drop of points on France’s part could see France getting relegated from League A and demoted to League B.

Dembélé has not been completely ruled out of the game against Denmark, but concerns over his fitness have certainly jeopardized his availability.
