Following Greek side PAOK’s elimination from the Europa Conference League at the hands of Marseille last night, Romanian manager Razvan Lucescu spoke to Canal+.
“I can say we’re disappointed with the result today because I think we played very well, we created a lot of chances. Marseille knew how to take advantage of our only error but that shows the great quality and experience at this level. But as you said, it’s the pride of having played very well and having got to this point for the first time in the club’s history.”
Asked about Marseille’s chances for the rest of the tournament, the Romanian responded:
“For me, Marseille are a very organised team, with a lot of good players, with quality, so I would say that they are the favourites for me. And now, I’m supporting Marseille. I want them to win! Now that we’re out of the competition, after playing against them, I want them to win.”
