PLAYER RATINGS | Lyon 3-2 Angers, a spirited Angers beaten by new OL signing Tetê

Ligue 1 21/22 Round 30 – 3/4/22

LYON – 3 (Dembélé 26, 52, Tetê 80)

Anthony Lopes, 5

Emerson Palmieri, 3 – A lethargic and static defensive display. He struggled to handle the verve and trickery offered by Fulgini and Boufal and it was he who lost Pereira Lage at the back post for his header to make it 1-1.

Castello Lukeba, 4

Jérôme Boateng, 4

Malo Gusto, 5 – Preferred to Dubois and seems likely to be made first choice next season but remains raw, despite his talent, and was lucky to get away with some nervy moments on the ball and a clumsy first-half tackle that might have resulted in a penalty. A handful of snappy interceptions saves him from a 4.

Thiago Mendes, 5

Tanguy Ndombele, 6

Houssem Aouar, 5

Lucas Paquetá, 6

Romain Faivre, 5

Moussa Dembélé, 7 -Another very encouraging centre-forward display as he protected possession well and unsettled all three of Angers’ centre-backs at one point or another. He calmly fired home the opener and rifled a second under Mandrea for 2-1 early in the second half.

Others: Kadewere 5, Tetê 7, Henrique 5.

ANGERS – 2 (Pereira Lage 50, Boufal 59)

Anthony Mandrea, 5

Batista Mendy, 4

Ismaël Traoré, 4

Enzo Ebosse, 6

Souleyman Doumbia, 5

Mathias Pereira Lage, 6

Thomas Mangani, 5

Pierrick Capelle, 4

Angelo Fulgini, 7 – A lively and waspish presence in midfield and often proved a nuisance in pressing and in transitions while his passing, interplay and movement were often on point. Like Boufal, he deserved better here.

Stéphane Bahoken, 5

Sofiane Boufal, 7 – A real threat with his pace, skill and direct style and often had the beating of Lukeba and Emerson in particular. He was the focal point for everything that Angers did well in attack and it was he who outmuscled Aouar to stab home for 2-2.

Others: Bamba 5, Cho 5, Jakolis 5, Ounahi 5, Ninga 5.
