According to L’Équipe, Porto have tabled an offer for Bordeaux striker Hwang Ui-Jo (29), who was close to signing for Portuguese rivals Sporting Lisbon last summer.
Hwang finished last season as Bordeaux’s top scorer in Ligue 1 with 11 goals as the side finished rock bottom of Ligue 1. The club will also pass before the FFF appeal commission on Tuesday as they look to overturn a further demotion to the N1, but according to L’Équipe, the club are not necessarily looking to sell their most saleable assets, at least not on the cheap.
Having reached an agreement with creditors, as well as opening a line of credit from a second investment fund ahead of the meeting, the club have hardened this stance.
Although Porto have tabled a bid for the South Korean striker Hwang, the bid “isn’t expected to upset Bordeaux’s” ahead of the FFF commission meeting, whilst Nantes are also interested. A deal for the Ligue 1 club and Coupe de France champions could, however, be complicated by the use of intermediaries in the deal.
