PSG coach Christophe Galtier wants to cut squad to 21 players

As reported by L’Équipe, new PSG coach Christophe Galtier is looking to cut his squad down to between 21 and 23 senior players for his first season in Paris.

Le Parisien reported yesterday that the Paris club have drawn up a list of 11 first team players that they are looking to sell which includes Georginio Wijnaldum and Mauro Icardi but omits Neymar and Presnel Kimpembe. However, reaching Galtier’s 21 man target will be tricky to achieve given the high wages paid by the Ligue 1 side, meaning players are reluctant to leave and other clubs can’t match PSG player’s current salaries.

Midfielder Leandro Paredes could the first to leave with Manchester United enquiring for the player but they may be put off by a €35m valuation. Tottenham, meanwhile, baulked at PSG’s €30m valuation of centre-back Abdou Diallo (26) forcing them to move onto Clement Lenglet instead.

Paris want €25m for Leeds and Inter Milan target Arnaud Kalimuendo (20) and have already received multiple offers for the striker who managed 12 league goals on loan at Lens last season. Italian side Monza have also registered their interest in striker Mauro Icardi.

PSG director Antero Henrique has offered Chelsea target Presnel Kimpembe (26) to Juventus too, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.
