PSG contact Nice for manager Christophe Galtier

L’Équipe report today that Paris Saint-Germain have yesterday formally contacted Nice in order to bring in Christophe Galtier as their new manager.

With Mauricio Pochettino and his staff set to leave the club by mutual agreement after a year and a half in charge, the club have been looking for someone to spearhead the new project, which features Luis Campos as sporting adviser after Leonardo’s sacking in the wake of Kylian Mbappé’s contract extension.

Galtier had been the priority choice for Campos, with both men having worked together at Lille in a collaboration which led to Les Dogues’ first league title in a decade.

Nice director of football Julien Fournier, who Galtier has ostensibly fallen out with over the course of a disappointing second half of the season for Les Aiglons, had been publicly inviting PSG to make a move for the former Saint-Étienne manager.

L’Équipe indicate that little information has leaked so far regarding the nature of the talks, which are nevertheless forecasted to be “intense” in order for PSG to get their man.
