PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe leaves for Qatar to fix his hamstring issue

Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe has been struggling with a hamstring injury over recent weeks. Owing to the issue, he could not get the latest call-up to France’s national team squad for their games in the UEFA Nations League.

As confirmed by the Parisien club, Presnel Kimpembe has left PSG for Qatar, where he will undergo a rehabilitation programme to fix his hamstring injury.

The report from RMC Sport explains that The French international will be unavailable for at least six weeks, ruling him out of PSG’s almost every game in the next one and half months.

It is understood that the 27-year-old defender will undergo treatment at the Aspetar clinic in Doha. In a statement released by the club, Kimpembe was quoted as saying:

“Benefiting from Aspetar’s services is important as a top-level athlete. The expertise of the staff as well as the high-quality facilities will allow me to treat myself in the best possible conditions. As a professional, this complex, for me, is the ideal place.”

Having made eight appearances for PSG across all competitions in the 2022/23 season, the centre-back picked up a knock in his hamstring in their Ligue 1 fixture against Brest on September 10.
