PSG set their objective: an invincible season in Ligue 1

According to Le Parisien Christophe Galtier and Luís Campos have set an objective for the first team to finish the Ligue 1 season unbeaten. The two have thought big and aimed high for PSG, and want to emulate an Arsene Wenger-style invincible season which was famously achieved by Arsenal in the 2003/04 season.

So far PSG have started well and are making good ground on their lofty ambitions, after winning against Clermont in the season opener 5-0 and equally blowing away a tricky Montpellier side 5-2.

In the past, PSG have often been led to defeats in Ligue 1 because of the Champions League, after a big European match during the week which left its mark on the following weekend in the league, particularly psychologically.

But with the World Cup at the end of the year and the new compact calendar, with six matches in the Champions League to be played before the World Cup starts on 21 November, the challenge seems even greater for the new-look PSG side.
