Ratcliffe will have to increase Chelsea offer if he wishes to buy the club

RMC are reporting that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s bid for Chelsea FC is inferior to that of their rivals in the bidding process. The OGC Nice owner has offered €5 billion euros for the London club, a sum which will reportedly be insufficient to get a deal over the line.

Todd Boehly’s consortium still remains the favourite to buy the club, whose sale is being expediated due to the sanctions imposed on Chelsea’s Russian owner Roman Abramovich.

The Atheltic, meanwhile, are reporting that Ratcliffe is “not acting like a man who believes his chance to buy Chelsea is gone.” According to their sources, the INEOS owner is seeking to “engage various stakeholders, including key supporters, in the coming days.”
