Riyad Mahrez on the verge of signing new Manchester City contract

As reported by L’Équipe, Riyad Mahrez is on the verge of signing a new contract with Manchester City this summer.

The 31-year-old attacker is close to agreeing to a two-year extension to his deal in Manchester which will keep him at the club until 2025 with his current agreement set to expire next summer. Foot Mercato reported the Algerian international was offered a new deal at the end of last month while PSG was also reported as interested in the player as a replacement for the now departed Ángel Di María.

Having been born in France, Mahrez spent five years playing in the lower French leagues, featuring for Sarcelles, Quimper and Le Havre, before his now famous move to eventual Premier League winners Leicester City. He has since gone on to win three more Premier League trophies with Manchester City where he has scored 63 goals and added 46 assists in 189 games across competitions.
