Bordeaux forward Sékou Mara (19) is attracting interest from Leeds United, Aston Villa and Newcastle United. THe France youth international is “unconvinced” by the latter, according to Sébastien Denis.
Despite uncertainties as to which division the club will be playing in next season, Bordeaux are still hoping to attract a €10m fee for a player, who shone during this year’s Maurice Revello (former Toulon) tournament, scoring 5 goals in just 4 games.
In France, Nice and Lyon have previously been linked with the France U21 international, but the player is now attracting attention from overseas. The most “concrete” interest comes from Newcastle, who have shifted their focus to Mara having missed out on Hugo Ekitike (20).
However, according to Denis, the Tyneside club are yet to “find the arguments to convince the French youth international.” Leeds and Aston Villa are also interested in the player but are yet to act on that interest.
