Stéphanie Frappart hits back at critics after Coupe de France final nomination

In a press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Coupe de France final between Nice and Nantes, referee Stéphanie Frappart has hit back at critics over her nomination.

The Ligue 1 regular will become the first woman to referee a men’s French cup final, having also been the first to officiate a men’s Champions League game.

Frappart, her words transcribed in RMC Sport, responded to criticisms over supposed decisions she had made against Nice in games this season. Les Aiglons manager Christophe Galtier indicated that although he had disagreements with her in the games against Brest and Strasbourg, he considers her to be among the best in the league.

“I don’t have social media and I don’t read the press very much. I’m more focused on the technical aspects and the feedback that I can have with the FFF. I have the Federation, UEFA and FIFA’s trust. Personally, I am focused on what happens on the pitch and don’t pay attention to controversies or discussions about my performances.”
