Foot Mercato report that Ligue 1 club ESTAC Troyes, a team that is part of the City Football Group galaxy of outfits, are set to make the decision to surprisingly sack manager Bruno Irles, after just 6 months in the role, when he replaced Laurent Batlles at the turn of the calendar year.
Batlles, who is now the boss of Ligue 2 outfit St Étienne, left the club in December 2021 owing to disagreements with City Football Group bosses who were insisting that he give playing time to Brazilian talents with now European football experience.
Irles joined from Quevilly-Rouen and successfully kept Troyes in Ligue 1 when it looked like they could be seriously drawn into the relegation battle, constantly keeping their heads above water by approximately 3 points over the course of the 2nd half of the campaign.
The ex-AS Monaco Youth Academy boss has fallen out with several key players at Troyes during this pre-season, with a group of them having gone directly to management to ask them to sack the coach.
The board has yet to make a final decision, but they are tending towards sacking the coach, with the season just 3 weeks away.
