Sébasiten Denis is reporting that Watford’s €35m valuation of Ismaïla Sarr (24) is dissuading interested Italian sides from making move.
Watford, who were relegated to the Championship at the end of a difficult Premier League campaign, are aware that it will be difficult to keep Senegal international Sarr. However, the Hornets aren’t willing to let him go on the cheap.
Having arrived for €30m from Rennes in 2019, Watford are looking to make a profit on Sarr, despite their relegation. However, their hefty €35m price tag is putting off Italian sides, who were keen on the player. Denis adds that Watford could “become less greedy by the end of the market.”
Sarr still has two years remaining on his Watford deal. Last season, he made 22 Premier League performances, scoring five goals and registering two assists. Sarr is also looking to secure a place in Senegal’s World Cup squad ahead of this year’s competition in Qatar.
