Youth prospect Ayman Kari (19) decides to stay at PSG among Bayern Munich interest

As reported by Santi Aouna one of PSG’s brightest academy prospects Ayman Kari (19) has decided to stay with the Parisian side, signing his first professional contract with the club today.

It looks as if the club’s last ditch attempts to keep the player have worked, with former player Yohan Cabaye and sporting director Antero Henrique playing a key role in the contract negotiations. Yesterday it was reported that Bayern Munich were closing in on the 19-year old midfielder, and it was considered a done deal by the Bavarian club.

Born in 2004 in the Parisian suburbs, Kari is considered as one of his generation’s brightest prospects and has performed well in the UEFA youth league last season, making seven appearances and scoring one goal from a central midfield position. Kari received an offer from the club earlier this month, but after having hardly trained with the first team as of yet the player wasn’t sure whether PSG is the right club to make a step-up to the professional level in the future.

However, it looks like the club have managed to convince Kari to stay at the club – as fellow youth team prospect Xavi Simons left on a permanent deal to PSV Eindhoven earlier this week, albeit with a PSG buy-back clause.
