Speaking ahead of OGC Nice’s match against local rivals AS Monaco on Sunday, Aaron Ramsey (32) spoke highly of teammates Jean-Clair Todibo (23) and Khéphren Thuram (21).
Given Raphaël Varane’s recent retirement from international football, the names of potential replacements have been banded around. Todibo’s name has been frequently mentioned, and the Welsh international sees no reason why he can’t break through and play for Les Bleus.
“Jean-Clair is a very interesting character; he’s very confident and he’s a great guy around the dressing room and he’s a very, very talented player, who can go all the way to the top. For him, it is important to keep his feet on the ground, strive for more, and take in as much information as possible,” began Ramsey.
He continued, “He’s playing alongside one of the most experienced players in Dante, who has played at the very highest level now for a number of years. For Jean-Clair to have that experience next to him is invaluable. He’s a great guy, a great player and very ambitious, so there is no reason that he can’t go all the way to the top and represent France.”
He also believes that his midfield partner Thuram will also have “a big future”. Questioned about the French midfielder’s ceiling by Get French Football News’ Luke Entwistle, Ramsey replied: “Khéphren is another talented player here. I think he’s definitely got a big future ahead of him if he carries on the way he’s going at the minute. He’s very dangerous, very powerful, a very strong dribbler of the ball. Hopefully, he can keep progressing. He’s another player that can go all the way to the top I feel. I enjoy playing alongside him in the middle of the park; I think we have a good balance in there. Now it’s just about adding a few more goals to our games.”
