Aaron Ramsey prepared to extend stay at Nice

Nice midfielder Aaron Ramsey (32) has announced he would be ready to prolong his stay with Les Aiglons and put pen to paper over a new deal.

The 80-time Wales international joined the INEOS-owned club as a free agent last year after the termination of his contract with Juventus.

When Les Aiglons came knocking, Ramsey did not hesitate to put pen to paper with Nice over a one-year deal. The former Arsenal midfielder wasted no time in settling in. He scored his first Nice goal only one minute after coming on for this debut at Toulouse, on Ligue 1’s opening gameweek.

Ramsey spoke to the media in his pre-game press conference, that L’Equipe attended. The Welsh midfielder explained he would be happy to be a part of the club’s future. “It’s a very good club. I’d see no issue with extending my contract“, Ramsey said. The former Juventus man even revealed that he would like Nice to hold on to current coach Didier Digard. Ramsey has lauded the “fantastic work” being done by the coaching staff. “Relationships in the dressing room are excellent. For next season, there’s no question to be asked on whether we want to continue with him [Digard].” Nice will host Rennes on Saturday for Ligue 1 matchday 34.
