Santi Aouna is reporting that AC Milan are interested in Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin (25). The Serie A side are readying a loan offer for the Frenchman.
Saint-Maximin arrived at Newcastle for €18m from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice in 2018 and quickly established himself as a fan favourite at the club. However, this season, despite the Magpies’ success, Saint-Maximin has been reduced to playing a bit part role. Although he has played in 12 Premier League games, he has only started four.
He is therefore playing a largely peripheral role, and with the rumoured impending arrival of Anthony Gordon from Everton, the Saint-Étienne academy product could see his playing time reduced further. AC Milan are willing to offer him a route out of St James’ Park.
According to Foot Mercato, the Italian side are preparing a bid for Saint-Maximin. It would be a loan offer with a buy option at the end of the season. Concurrently, AC Milan are in discussions with Roma over the signing of Nicolò Zaniolo (23).
