Al Ittihad sound out move for Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté following Jean-Clair Todibo rejection

RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that Al Ittihad have sounded out a move for Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté (24) after failing in a bid to sign OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo (23).

Todibo has been linked with a departure from Nice all summer. Manchester United view the Frenchman as a replacement for Harry Maguire, should the England international leave Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window. However, Todibo is also the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia. According to Hawkins, Al Ittihad have made the former Barcelona centre-back a “huge offer,” however, Todibo has refused. Despite interest from the Gulf State, as well as Manchester United, Todibo is now likely to remain with Les Aiglons this summer.

Al Ittihad have also sounded out a move for Konaté. However, the Saudi club may once again have to concede defeat. Konaté is happy at Liverpool and he is keen on reaching his objectives with the Merseyside club.
