Barcelona defender Jules Koundé is confident that his team can emerge victorious in their crucial Europa League match against Manchester United on Thursday. The two teams played to a 2-2 draw in the first leg, and Koundé believes that Barcelona has what it takes to secure a win on the English club’s home turf.
Despite the pressure of the match, Koundé remained positive about Barcelona’s chances in the pre-match press conference which was attended by L’Équipe. He acknowledged that Manchester United is a great team with top-notch players, but he emphasised that the key to success is simply to win and advance to the next round of the competition.
Speaking on Wednesday, Koundé said, “There is obviously pressure, but it’s not negative at all. This is a big challenge for us, as we are going to face a great team, with great players, in a historic stadium. But ultimately, it’s just about winning and advancing.”
The young defender is one of Barcelona’s key players, and he will be hoping to make a major impact in Thursday’s match. Barcelona has a rich history of success in European competitions, but a trip to Old Trafford looks daunting for Xavi’s side.
